This compact water softener does not use electricity, it therefore works thanks to an exchange of ions. When hard water (containing primarily calcium and magnesium) passes through the ion exchange resin, the calcium and magnesium ions are exchanged for the sodium ions present in the resin. This process allows you to save energy.
